Lady Knights split doubleheader series with Kellyville
By Patrick Ford Editor

The Henryetta Lady Knights walked away with a hard-earned split in their doubleheader against the Kellyville Ponies on Tuesday – winning a high-octane 13-8 game one before falling 1-0 in a tightly contested nightcap.

— Game 1: Henryetta 13, Kellyville 8 Henryetta wasted no time, putting runs on the board early. Maddie Rock and Serenity Rex drove in first-inning runs, followed by a pair of second-inning RBIs from Cialee Watkins and Allie Davis to extend the lead. By the third, Mya Randleman, Davis and Kynlee Wynne had added to the tally, building a commanding 7-1 lead.

In the sixth inning, Keegan Hamric blasted a two-run homer and a costly Kellyville error tacked on two more Henryetta runs. Davis led the offensive charge, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while Wynne, Kelsey Brandt and Rock all had multiple hits. In total, the Lady Knights racked up 17 hits.

Davis also earned the win in the circle, going all seven innings with four strikeouts and five walks.

Lizzie Critser was the highlight for Kellyville, hitting two home runs and driving in four.

— Game 2: Kellyville 1, Henryetta 0

The second game was a pitchers’ duel from the first pitch, with both teams combining for just one run – and it was unearned. The lone tally came in the first inning on a Henryetta error. Kynlee Wynne pitched one clean inning with two strikeouts and no earned runs.

Despite the loss, Henryetta’s defense stayed sharp. Kellyville’s Rosie Diaz pitched three dominant innings, striking out six and allowing no hits.

Henryetta continues to show grit and depth this season under Coach Aundrea Lee, as they shift focus to tournament play this weekend.
