The Mission Society of Union Baptist Church of Grayson will be hosting “Family and Friends Day” Sunday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. during its morning worship hour. The guest speaker for the service will be Rev. Eliav Nash of Lawton. Music will be provided by Deacon Nash’s Legacy Family Choir under the direction of Sis. Arveca Nash of Oklahoma City, it’s a family affair Amen, and music by Sis. Cassandra Isaiah. Rev. Eliav Nash was born in Oklahoma City on May 13, 1966, to the late Deacon Buster and Dora Nash. He graduated from U.S. Grant High School in 1994. He then went to Oklahoma State University. He moved to Memphis, Tenn. and joined the United States Army. While in the Army, he was ordained as a deacon while stationed in Killeen, Texas. In 1998, he was called to preach by the Lord Jesus Christ, where he was ordained and licensed. During a 27-year career in the Army, he was blessed to bring the Word of God around the world: Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, Alaska, Arizona, North Carolina, Germany, Afghanistan and Iraq. He is married to Kimberly Nash and has three children: Eliav, Jr., Ebony and Anthony. Rev. Eliav now resides in Lawton, where he attends The Christian Center of Lawton under Pastor Paul Craig.
