Dora Mae Taylor, longtime Beggs resident, passed away Tuesday evening, August 19, 2025, at 94 years of age. Born January 31, 1931, in Sapulpa to the late Thomas and Maggie (Kelly) Bruton, she lived in numerous communities with her family before settling in the Beggs area. She married Jessie Lee Taylor on March 28, 1949, in Bristow. He preceded her in passing on December 15, 2003. Dora enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and camping. She also loved to sew and play bingo. She was a longtime member of First Apostolic Church of Beggs.
Preceding Dora in passing was her parents, husband, a son, Frank Houston Taylor and January 31, 1931 – August 19, 2025
eight siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Taylor Weaver and Sandra Taylor Pierce; grandchildren, Allen Canady, Chad Canady, Amy Sims, Tania Imhoff, William Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Dawn Stacy and Cody Liles; several great grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne Stringfellow and Evelyn Bruton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Taylor will be held from 2-4 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2025, at Mc-Clendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Beggs Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Craighton officiating.
