Lady Demons to compete at Memorial Tournament

The 2025 Prague-Ivan E. Shultz & Kellyville-Timothy Scott Todd Memorial Tournament is set to take place Aug. 21-23, bringing together several high school teams from across Oklahoma for a competitive three-day showdown. The Beggs Lady Demons, who are off to a hot start this season, are set to compete.

Pool play will be split between Prague and Kellyville, with Saturday’s single elimination bracket determining the champions in Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions.

— Tournament Overview

The annual fall tournament honors the memories of Ivan E. Shultz and Timothy Scott Todd, offering student-athletes the opportunity to compete in a structured, multi-pool format. Each team is guaranteed three games, with contests limited to 66 minutes. Entry fees were set at $275 per team.

Pool play begins Thursday, and continues through Friday. Games will be hosted at both Prague and Kellyville sites, starting at 10 a.m. each day and running into the evening. Saturday, Aug. 23, will feature single-elimination play that crowns the tournament’s bracket winners.

— Pool Play at Prague At the Prague site, three pools will battle for positioning:

• Pool A: Prague, Beggs, Yale

• Pool B: Cushing, Okemah, Memorial • Pool C: Tecumseh, Bethel, Jones Thursday’s action includes matchups between Pool A rivals Prague and Beggs (10 a.m.) and Okemah vs. Yale (11:30 a.m.), followed by a crossover between Pool A and Pool B at 1 p.m. Friday’s games include key showdowns such as Bethel vs. Jones (1 p.m.) and Tecumseh vs. Bethel (4 p.m.).

— Pool Play at Kellyville

Kellyville will host Pools D, E and F:

• Pool D: Hominy, Glenpool, Pawhuska

• Pool E: Kellyville, Morris, Liberty

• Pool F: Skiatook, Barnsdall, Broken Arrow JV Thursday’s schedule features Glenpool vs. Pawhuska (10 a.m.) and Kellyville vs. Morris (11:30 a.m.). Friday highlights include Skiatook vs. Barnsdall (10:00 a.m.) and Kellyville vs. Liberty (2 p.m.).

— Saturday: Bracket Day

On Aug. 23, all teams will advance into one of three single-elimination brackets based on their pool results: Gold, Silver or Bronze.

• Gold Bracket (at Prague): Begins at 10 a.m. with Pool A’s winner facing Pool F’s champion. Semifinals are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., leading to the championship game at 4:30 p.m.

• Silver Bracket (at Kellyville): Also kicks off at 10 a.m. with Pool A’s second seed taking on Pool F’s second seed. The title game will be decided at 4:30 p.m.

• Bronze Bracket (at Prague): Starts with Pool A’s third seed vs. Pool F’s third seed at 10 a.m. and concludes with the championship at 4:30 p.m.

Each bracket guarantees lively competition, as programs ranging from traditional contenders to emerging teams battle for tournament honors.

— Community Support & Contacts The tournament is expected to draw strong community support, as families and fans gather to cheer on student-athletes. Organizers note that the event is designed not only to promote high-level play but also to honor the individuals whose names the tournament carries.

Contacts for the event include Scott Neighbors (Kellyville Site, 918-3316488) and Dailyn King (Prague Site, 405-488-5457).
