Gene Herbert Denney, 85, resident of Morris, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025. He was born December 18, 1939, in Okmulgee to W.H. Denney and Mary Louise (Buchanan) Denney.
Gene was a graduate of Okmulgee High School. He worked for Ball Brothers Corp Glass Plant in Okmulgee for 34 years, retiring in 1994. Upon retirement, he began raising cattle and owned The Eagles Nest Video Store and Arcade in Morris for 16 years. Gene was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a skilled handyman, fixing almost anything and everything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Claudette Baker, brother-in-law George Baker, son Dean Denney and nephew Mycale Baker.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sondra Denney of Morris; daughter Tracie Denney and son Wendell December 18, 1939 – August 10, 2025
Craig Denney of Muskogee; stepsons Jeff Craig and wife Nicole of Blanchard and Jon Craige and fiancé Jem Black of Denton, Texas; grandchildren Ashtin Denny and Amber Denney of Muskogee, Taylor Craig, Riley Craig, Dawson Craig, Andrew Craig and wife Valerie of Denton, Texas, Carson Craig and Carly Craig of Blanchard; great-grandchildren Kiedis, Nirvana, Genesis, Ozzy, Landon, Hudson, Beckett, Navy, Jackson and Paisley.
A celebration of life will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, at First Christian Church in Morris.
