Patsy Coleen Poindexter

Patsy Coleen Poindexter was born July 17, 1941, in rural Jenksto the late Sam and Etta Pearl (Rideout) Reed. Patsy Poindexter passed away at her home on Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was 84 years of age.

Pasty attended Twin Hills School and graduated from Preston High School. She married her grade school sweetheart, Fred Poindexter, on July 28, 1961.

Whether she was raising her chickens, watching the hummingbirds or crappy fishing, Patsy simply loved being in the country. When she was inside, she loved working puzzles, watching westerns and game shows and playing games. Patsy cherished her family and their gatherings on the holidays. She worked for Okmulgee Schools for 27 years before retiring.

Preceding her in death were her parents and six brothers, Oliver Lee Reed, Jim Bob Reed, Kenneth Leon Reed, John Wayne Reed, Terry Joe Reed and Vallis Wayde Reed.

Survivors include her husband of almost 64 years, Fred Poindexter; children, Laree Waller and husband Clay Waller, Wayde Poindexter and wife Robin Poindexter and Tracy Poindexter and Bradley Ballard and Lisa Pilkington and husband Kim Pilkington; siblings, Carolyn McCullar July 17, 1941 – July 20, 2025

and husband Skip, Gyla Brumfield, Donna Swallow and Mike Reed and wife Sherry Reed; grandchildren, Aaron Waller, Jessie Poindexter and wife Amber Poindexter, Cassie Driver, Evan Pilkington, Spencer Pilkington, Jansen Pilkington, Taylor Pilkington and Conner Pilkington; great-grandchildren, Bailey Nicole Makinson, Joshua Lee Driver, Jr. and Brylen Wayde Driver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the funeral home Friday from 3-6 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hulbert Cemetery in Hulbert.
