Get ready for a tail-wagging good time as the Dog Days of Summer rolls into Okmulgee on Saturday, July 12, hosted at Okmulgee VFW Post 1189, located at 1427 N. Okmulgee Ave. This “pawsitively” exciting event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and promises a fun-filled day for pets and their people alike.
Dog lovers from across the area are invited to bring their four-legged friends for a series of spirited activities and pet-centered fun. One of the event’s main attractions will be the crowd-favorite Dog Race, where pups of all shapes and sizes-small, medium and large-can test their zoomies and race to see who’s the fastest dog in town. Winners will receive “pawsome” prizes and bragging rights for the rest of the summer.
But the excitement doesn’t end at the racetrack. Families can en- joy a full day of outdoor games including volleyball, horseshoes and cornhole. Whether you’re there to compete or simply to cheer on the tail-wagging participants, this event promises something for everyone.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their competitive spirit-and maybe a few treats! With activities geared for all ages and breeds, the event is designed to foster community, support local pet vendors and celebrate the joy that our canine companions bring into our lives.
