At nearly 92 years young, Adonna Shelton’s story is one stitched with harmony, care and a quiet strength that has touched lives across Okmulgee County. From singing in a beloved church trio to serving in healthcare and social work, Ms. Shelton has spent her life pouring into others - with no intention of doing anything less. A lifelong member of Second Baptist Church, Ms. Shelton has called Okmulgee home for as long as she can remember. After graduating from high school here, she married her husband Bob and raised their son Perry. While she entered the workforce early, it wasn’t long before her calling to care for others led her to pursue nursing.
