Rodeo, Races & Revelry

The town of Beggs is preparing for a high-energy weekend packed with small-town charm and family excitement as it celebrates its 125th birthday in style with the return of Beggs Frontier Day on Saturday, June 14, and two nights of action-packed rodeo on Friday and Saturday, June 13-14.

This year’s events promise something for everyone – whether you’re itching for adrenaline-pumping rodeo thrills, craving funnel cakes and fair vibes or ready to race an outhouse down Main Street. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable weekend in Beggs.

— Saturday: Beggs Frontier Day brings the spirit of the old west downtown Hosted by the Beggs Area Chamber of Commerce, Frontier Day will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Beggs, with festivities kicking off even earlier. At 9 a.m., DJ Bird Lazano will fire up the fun with music as the parade lineup begins.

This year’s celebration will honor the city’s 125year legacy, inviting the community to gather for a commemorative historic group photo at 2 p.m., so don’t forget your lawn chairs and your best smile.

— Schedule Highlights

• 10 a.m. – Parade begins, vendor booths and bounce house open

• 11 a.m. – Face painting, balloon artists & free children’s books

• 11:30 a.m. – Cake Walk

• 12 p.m. – Coin Scramble

— Legendary Outhouse Race returns

The Outhouse Race is one of the most anticipated spectacles of the day, drawing crowds and competitors alike. Teams are required to build a “ridable” outhouse, power it by human effort only (no motors allowed!) and race it to victory. Costumes and creativity are encouraged.

Teams must pre-register by emailing atchamber23@ gmail.com or signing up in person at Club House Leathers and Accessories in Beggs.

This tradition is sure to deliver outrageous fun and hilarious memories – don’t miss your chance to be part of the madness!

— Beggs FBC-South to host 14th annual car show Meanwhile, just down the road, the 14th Annual FBC-South Car Show revs up beginning at 11 a.m. on June 14 at the church, located three miles west of Highway 75 on Highway 16. Registration begins at 8 a.m. for a $20 fee.

Awards will include Top 50 Cars & Trucks and Top 5 Motorcycles, along with 11 special awards.

Awards will be presented at 2 p.m. and there will be barbecue, fish fry, desserts, and an open mic for live singing performances.

Call Floyd at 918-482-3272 or email meter@ms7. com for more information. Everyone is welcome to attend.

— Beggs Roundup Club Open Rodeo: Two Nights of High-Stakes Action If you prefer boots, bulls and bucking broncs, head over to the Beggs Roundup Club Arena on Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, for the Beggs Roundup Club Open Rodeo, where the action begins at 8 p.m. nightly.

This year’s event is paying out nightly with $1,500 added average money, and all contestants must compete both nights to qualify for the average payout. Contestants can register for rough stock events by texting 918-575-2762 on June 9-10.

— Vendors Wanted! Join the Action

Interested in showcasing your business, crafts, or food? Vendor spaces for the rodeo weekend are just $25 for the entire weekend. It’s a great opportunity to reach hundreds of locals and visitors during this festive celebration. Contact the Beggs Area Chamber of Commerce for more information on how to reserve a space.

– From dawn till dusk and beyond, Beggs will be buzzing with excitement on June 13-14. Whether you’re cheering on outhouse racers, tasting fried fish, admiring classic cars or soaking in the rodeo action, this weekend has something for everyone.
