Beggs Frontier Day returns with family fun, festivities

Mark your calendars and round up your crew, because Beggs Frontier Day is making its much-anticipated return on Saturday, June 14, and this year’s celebration promises a day full of family fun, community spirit and exciting activities – highlighted by the hilariously competitive Outhouse Race.

Hosted by the Beggs Area Chamber of Commerce, this year’s Frontier Day will also mark a special milestone: the celebration of Beggs’ 125th birthday. The festivities will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Beggs, with the fun beginning even earlier for those involved in the parade lineup and DJ Bird Lazano’s setup at 9 a.m.

— A Day Packed with Festivities

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the exciting events planned for the day:

• 10 a.m. – The Parade begins, along with the opening of vendors and the kids’ bounce house.

• 11 a.m. – Face painting, balloon artists and a children’s book giveaway kickoff.

• 11:30 a.m. – Try your luck at the crowd-favorite Cake Walk.

• 12 p.m. – Join the frantic Coin Scramble.

• 12:30 p.m. – Don’t miss the ribbiting Frog Race.

• 1 p.m. – The hilarity ramps up with the muchloved Outhouse Race.

• 1:30 p.m. – Cheer on the contenders in the Turtle Race.

• 2 p.m. – The community is invited to gather for a historical photo to commemorate Beggs’ 125th birthday. Bring your own lawn chairs and enjoy music from One Accord.

• 3 p.m. – The entertainment continues with a live solo performance by Cody Brewer.

In addition to the scheduled events, families can enjoy a Kids Play Zone, various food and craft vendors and all-day live entertainment.

— Outhouse Race – Register Now!

One of the most anticipated events of the day is the Outhouse Race, a beloved Beggs tradition that draws big laughs and fierce competition.

Teams must include at least one rider and pushers/ pullers, and each outhouse must: • Be human-powered only (no motors or mechanical assistance)

• Feature a seat for a rider

• Resemble a traditional outhouse To win, your team’s outhouse must be the first to cross the finish line – intact and in control! Strict lane rules apply, and any interference with other teams may result in disqualification, as per the official race guidelines.

Racers must pre-register either by emailing the Chamber at atchamber23@gmail.com or in person at Club House Leathers and Accessories in Beggs.

This year’s Frontier Day has something for everyone. From old-fashioned games to live music and delicious food, promoters are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the town’s history and bring the community together.

So gather your family, friends and neighbors and come out to enjoy Beggs Frontier Day 2025 – where tradition meets good old-fashioned fun.

See you June 14 in downtown Beggs!
