The Henryetta Junior Golf Camp, named in honor of Jimmy Williams, is swinging back into action this spring with a threeday event designed to teach local youth the fundamentals of golf all while having fun. This year’s camp will take place May 27-29 at the Henryetta Golf Club and is completely free for children ages 6-17.
The camp is split into two age groups to better tailor instruction to skill and development levels:
• Ages 6-10 will meet from 8-9 a.m.
• Ages 11-17 will meet from 9-10:30 a.m.
Organizers are emphasizing a positive, educational and energetic atmosphere, helping young golfers build confidence while learning everything from proper swing mechanics to course etiquette.
Golf clubs will be provided for participants who need them, removing any financial barrier to entry. The camp will take place at Henryetta Golf Club, located at 30569 S. 216 Road, approximately 2.3 miles south of Main Street off Lake Road. While the camp itself is free, any rounds played outside the scheduled camp hours will be subject to the club’s standard greens and cart rental fees.
Parents or guardians are encouraged to fill out the registration form with the participant’s name, age, parent’s name, contact phone number and t-shirt size.
