Seeing Clearly
Los Angeles has smog. I grew up in Los Angeles County and we had smog. It was bad. It made it hard to breathe, and burned your eyes. I sometimes walked home from school in tears because of the smog. I wasn’t overly emotional, nor had I been hurt, but I was on the swim team. At times, we swam three to three and one-half miles a day in heavily chlorinated water. My eyes were already deeply red from the chlorine, and when you added smog floating by because of heavy traffic, the burning was too complete - it created tears.
