The Dewar Dragons struck early on Thursday, but a big inning from Latta in the fourth turned the tide, handing Dewar an 8-4 loss.
Luke Hankins was a bright spot for the Dragons both at the plate and on the mound. At the top of the lineup, Hankins went 3-for-4 with an RBI, setting the tone offensively. He also pitched four strong innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out seven without giving up a walk.
Dewar struck first in the bottom of the third inning when Hankins delivered an RBI single to give the Dragons an early lead. However, Latta answered back with a four-run fourth inning, sparked by a series of singles to left and center field.
Despite the setback, the Dragons remained aggressive on the base paths, swiping four bases over the course of the game.
