Larry McCosar
Obituaries
April 25, 2025
Larry McCosar

Larry Dean McCosar, beloved father, grandfather, son, Marine and friend, passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on March 21, 1971, in Claremore, Larry wrestled and graduated from Eufaula High School while staying at the Eufaula Dormitory.

Larry proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, dedicating eight years of service, including deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His strength, leadership, courage and devotion to his fellow Marines left a lasting impression on his brothers who served with him.

After his military service, Larry began a new chapter at River Spirit Casino, where he worked diligently as a security communications manager for 18 years until he retired in 2023. Larry had a zest for life and a passion for cooking and trying new restaurants, especially with his family. His love for sports ran deep, particularly for the Oklahoma Sooners football team and Oklahoma State Cowboys wrestling (he would M arch 21, 1971 – April 21, 2025

probably say “Boo!” at these two even being in the same sentence.) Larry also had a lifelong affection for movies-he was especially captivated by the world of Star Wars, which he enjoyed watching and loved to show his ever growing action figure collection. Mostly, he was a proud father and loved showcasing his children’s accomplishments on social media.

Above all, Larry was a devoted family man. He is survived by his children: Alex and Kathryn McCosar, Olivia and Dylan Long, Deanna McCosar, Alyssa McCosar, Dylan McCosar and Amy Cagle. His heart was especially full with the arrival of his beloved granddaughter, Kinsley Long. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Larry McCosar, his dear Grandma Nellie McCosar, among other aunts and uncles he held close to his heart throughout his life.

Larry’s humor and contagious laughter, loyalty and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the meals cooked in his honor and the love he poured into his family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt Funeral Service. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family online at www.schaudtfuneralservice. com.
