The 2025 Danny Morgan Classic tipped off Wednesday at the Preston Sports Complex, welcoming eight competitive teams from across Oklahoma for a three-day high school baseball tournament that honors a local coaching legend and celebrates spring sportsmanship at its best.
The tournament featured matchups between the Preston Pirates, Okmulgee Bulldogs, Henryetta Knights, Hugo Buffaloes, Morris Eagles, Kellyville Ponies, Beggs Golden Demons, Haskell Haymakers, Meeker Bulldogs, Edison Eagles and Chouteau-Mazie Wildcats. The action began Wednesday with two opening games:
• Game 1 (10 a.m.) – Chouteau-Mazie vs. Okmulgee (L-1-19)
• Game 2 (12 p.m.) – Preston (10-0) vs. Choteau Mazie Thursday’s lineup continued with:
• Game 5 (10 a.m.) Haskell vs. Beggs
• Game 6 (12 p.m.) Kellyville vs. Morris
• Game 3 (2 p.m.) – Hugo vs. Henryetta
• Game 4 (4 p.m.) – Henryetta vs. Okmulgee
• Game 7 (6 p.m.) – Edison vs. Meeker Friday hosts the elimination rounds, with matchups between teams that fell in the opening days.
Games begin at 10 a.m. and continue every two hours through the evening, allowing for placement in Saturday’s finale rounds.
The tournament will conclude Saturday with three major games:
• 10 a.m. – Consolation Placement
• 2 p.m. – Semifinal
• 4 p.m. – Third-Place Game
• 6 p.m. – Championship Game Fans can expect exciting baseball, community pride and a celebration of youth athletic talent.
