Hunter McElhannon dazzled at the plate Friday, going 3-for-3 with two triples and three RBIs as Preston routed Okay 12-0.
The Pirates exploded for nine runs in the first inning. McElhannon’s first triple drove in two runs, and he added a second triple in the third inning as Preston tacked on more insurance runs.
Noah Wilson was dominant on the mound, allowing just one hit while striking out nine over three innings.
Kaden Dean, Bradley Winford, Jace Basquez and Randell Winford also contributed RBIs. The Pirates were sharp in the field with no errors, and McElhannon led with nine defensive chances.
Okay’s lone hit came from Chase Clark, who also pitched two innings.
Preston next plays Liberty on Tuesday.
