What started as a deep deficit turned into a dazzling comeback for the Beggs Golden Demons, who scored 10 runs in a stunning sixth inning to defeat Spiro 14-7 on Tuesday.
Trailing 7-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Beggs unleashed a barrage of offense sparked by a bases-loaded hit-bypitch to Kevin Monteque. Landon Helt then cleared the bases with a three-run single, followed by a Carson Cooper double that drove in two. Jerrett Hammer added a two-run single, and Ranson Stephens grounded out to plate two more runs.
Hammer led the offensive charge with a 2-for-4 performance and two RBIs from the ninth spot in the lineup. Helt, Cooper, Stephens and Hammer all drove in a pair of runs.
Starter Jerrett Hammer went four innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out five. Ranson Stephens closed it out with a hitless, scoreless sixth inning, striking out one.
Jaxon Remington showcased excellent plate discipline with three walks and two stolen bases. The team collected six walks total.
Beggs improves their season standing and now sets sights on Glenpool for their next matchup on Thursday.
