Cope leads Preston to road win
Preston’s offense exploded for 21 hits in a 16-7 win over the Okemah Lady Panthers on Tuesday, fueled by a 3-hit day from Josie Cope and a 4-RBI performance from Kynlee Martin.
The Lady Pirates struck early with a six-run first inning and padded the lead with three more in the second. They added five more insurance runs in the final two innings to seal the deal.
Cope went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Martin, meanwhile, went 3-for-5 while driving in four.
Na’Braijhanae Phillips, Kristin Holuby and Taylan Starr also had three hits apiece.
Holuby threw a complete game, allowing 15 hits and seven runs, and striking out one.
