Na’Braijhanae Phillips put on a show Tuesday night, hammering two home runs and driving in four runs to lead the Preston Lady Pirates past the Prague Lady Red Devils 9-2.
Prague struck first with a run in the opening inning, but Preston responded quickly and decisively. In the second, timely hits from Sophia Bunner, Aiyana Beaver and Taylan Starr brought home three runs to give the Lady Pirates the lead for good.
Phillips launched solo and three-run home runs in the third and fifth innings, respectively, fueling a four-run surge in the fifth that sealed the win. Bunner also added a sacrifice fly in the inning to extend the lead.
Kristin Holuby earned the win from the circle, allowing two runs on seven hits across seven innings, striking out two and walking two. Preston’s offense piled up 17 hits, led by Josie Cope and Taylan Starr with three hits apiece.
