The undefeated Dewar Dragons thrilled their home crowd Tuesday afternoon with a walk-off win over the Kiefer Trojans, edging out a tight 2-1 victory in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Dragons were trailing 1-0 heading into the final frame after Kiefer broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fifth on a wild pitch. Dewar’s bats stayed patient, and their opportunity came late. Stoney Yaerger launched a solo home run to left field to tie the game before a Kiefer error brought home the winning run.
Both teams showcased elite pitching. Dewar’s Aidan Tomlinson was dominant on the mound, going the distance with a complete-game effort. He gave up just one hit and one run across seven innings, striking out 15 and walking three. Kiefer pitchers tallied 12 strikeouts of their own but couldn’t hold on in the final inning.
Offensively, Braelin Lewis led the Dragons with two hits and was steady on defense, recording 16 outs without a single fielding error.
Dewar improves their record heading into Friday’s matchup with Glenpool.
