Aidan Tomlinson delivered a masterful performance on the mound Wednesday, striking out 11 batters and leading the Dewar Dragons to a 5-2 victory over the Marlow Outlaws, last year’s 4A State Baseball Champion.
Tomlinson’s dominant outing saw him allow just two hits and two runs over seven innings while walking three, securing the win for Dewar.
The Dragons wasted no time getting on the board, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Peyton Kilhoffer started things off with a double to left field, bringing in the first run, followed by a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Skelly Taylor to add another.
Marlow’s Jacob Crowson was charged with the loss, pitching three innings and giving up two runs on two hits while striking out one and walking four. Blayd Harris got the start for the Outlaws, lasting four innings and surrendering three runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out five and walking none.
At the plate, Dewar’s Braelin Lewis shined as the team’s number eight hitter, going 2-for-3 to lead the Dragons in hits. Kilhoffer, Taylor, and Lewis each drove in a run to contribute to the victory.
Marlow’s offense struggled against Tomlinson’s overpowering pitching, but Jackson Miller and Clint Ladon each managed to collect one hit. Austin Harris and Blake Ridley provided the RBIs for the Outlaws. Marlow did execute one double play in the game, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Dragons.
With the win, the unbeaten Dewar Dragons continue to build momentum as they progress through the season. Tomlinson’s strong showing on the mound proved to be the difference-maker, as Dewar executed at the plate and in the field to secure the victory.
