Sylvia Jean McCrary-Sanford

Sylvia Jean Mc-Crary-Sanford, born October 24, 1952, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

In 1988, Sylvia married Ronnie G. Sanford, and together they welcomed their son Ronnie, Jr. in 1989. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Sylvia is preceded by her parents, Gwendolyn and Jesse McCrary; and brother, Douglas McCrary.

Sylvia is survived by her children James and Jarita McCrary, along with their daughters Sierra C. McCrary of Renton, Wash. and Ja-Raya E. McCrary of Kent, Wash.; stepson Jamal James, stepdaughter Dasha Powell and grandchildren Harmonie White, Lyrik White, Jonathan Powell, Journey Powell and Kobe Powell; Ty-Lee McCrary and Miranda Watson, their daughter Whitney Watson and her children James October 24, 1952 – March 10, 2025

Watson, Aubrey Watson and Tory Beall; Dathan McCrary and his son D.J.; and sister Elizabeth Love-Hert of Chandler, Ariz.

She is also remembered by Sylvia’s warmth, strength and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed. She touched many lives with her kindness and will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Okmulgee.

The family has been cared for by House of Winn – Okmulgee.
