Peggy Ann Cooper
Obituaries
March 19, 2025
Peggy Ann Cooper

Peggy Ann Cooper was born on November 2, 1936, to James Bean and Cora Cary Bean at Chilocco School Hospital in North Central Oklahoma. Peggy attended several schools and graduated from Hulbert High School in 1955. She was an avid basketball player and loved athletics. As an adult, Peggy enjoyed bowling in leagues in Okmulgee. She also had a passion for outdoor activities, especially fishing and hunting quail, duck, and other game. She kept her beloved 20-gauge shotgun close by until her passing, a reminder of her adventurous spirit.

On August 21, 1957, Peggy married Jack Cooper. She cherished her role as a homemaker for many years before serving as county clerk at the courthouse for 15 years. Jack and Peggy made their home in Okmulgee, sharing 42 years of marriage before Jack’s passing on February 14, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer.

In 2000, Peggy met Bob, and the two formed a loving bond that lasted until her passing. They were best friends, sharing a deep love for travel and fishing. Much of their time was spent at Eufaula Lake, where they enjoyed boating, swimming, dancing and relaxing on the deck. Together, they found joy in watching the birds, playfully cursing the squirrels, and soaking in the serene lake views.

Peggy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2007, yet she remained determined to live an active life for as long as possible. As the disease progressed, Bob lovingly cared for her. In 2016, they sold their homes and moved to November 2, 1936 – March 11, 2025

Mustang full-time, where Bob continued to provide dedicated care until Peggy moved to St. Katherine’s Assisted Living. Even there, Bob remained her devoted companion, ensuring her comfort and happiness.

Peggy passed peacefully from this life on March 11 2025, in El Reno. She was cherished by the staff and everyone who knew her.

Known for her gentle spirit and kind heart, Peggy brought warmth and love to those around her. We celebrate her heavenly homecoming, even as we mourn her earthly absence.

Peggy’s legacy lives on in the memories of those who loved her. Her strength, kindness, and joy will forever remain in our hearts.

Public viewing/visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. March 19, 2025, at Okmulgee Cemetery, US-62, in Okmulgee, with Chaplin Alan Noble officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service & Cremation Care, 220 S. Alabama Ave. in Okmulgee. Family and friends may leave kind words of comfort, special memories and condolences to the family online at www.schaudtfuneralservice. com.
