Esta Leona Wesley

Esta Leona Wesley, longtime resident of Beggs, passed away Friday afternoon, February 28, 2025, in Muskogee at 82 years of age. She was born February 13, 1943, in Heavner to the late Eugene “Doc” Warford and Minnie (Pannell) Warford.

After graduating high school, Esta went to work at Walgreens. She later began a longtime career in childcare, beginning at Growing Tree Learning Center in Glenpool and later at the Beggs Public Schools Daycare. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and cooking. Much of her life was spent riding horses and going on trail rides. Esta was a talented singer and songwriter, having written numerous songs. She married Butch Wesley on June 14, 1963. She will be remembered most for the love she had for her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Edward “Butch” Wesley, Sr.; parents, Eugene “Doc” and Minnie (Pannell) Warford; and seven siblings, Jerry Warford, Vernon Warford, Big Vernon Warford, Ruby Breeden, Virginia Ingram, Ruth Skidmore and Mary Hoobler.

Esta is survived by her children, Bobby Wesley and wife Julia and Lee Wesley Jr and wife February 13, 1943 – February 28, 2025

Kim; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Jeannie Lane and Paul Warford.

Viewing for Esta was held from 1-7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at McClendon- Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Beggs, with Rev. David Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Beggs Cemetery.

A benefit including a silent auction, concessions and a barrel race will be held to assist the family with final expenses at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Beggs Arena.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mc-Clendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Esta’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon- winters.com.
