Bluepeak Expanding Fiber-Optic Network
By Patrick

Okmulgee residents, business leaders, and educators came together on February 27 at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT) to celebrate a major step forward in the city’s digital transformation. The community meet-and-greet highlighted the impact of Bluepeak’s multi-million-dollar fiber-optic network expansion, which is expected to enhance education, economic development, and everyday connectivity to more than 6,100 homes and businesses.

Those in attendance were met with refreshments, opening remarks, and conversation with Bluepeak leadership – highlighting the community impact of fiber technology. As part of their commitment to the community, Bluepeak also presented the Fiber Optics Workforce program at OSUIT with a contribution to support its areas of greatest need.

“Investment in fiber infrastructure is a game-changer for the people of Okmulgee,” said Brandon Dinsmore, Tribal Outreach & Workforce Programs Specialist at OSUIT. “Reliable, high-speed internet is essential for attracting new businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs, and ensuring our existing companies can compete in today’s digital economy. We’re thrilled to see Bluepeak making this commitment to our community and I am personally excited about the opportunities broadband expansion presents community members across Oklahoma. This is how we close the digital divide.”

The event was held at the OSUIT campus, home to a cutting-edge fiber technician training program where students gain hands-on experience with fiber splicing and broadband infrastructure. Those in attendance learned how improved connectivity can drive progress across Okmulgee.

For local businesses, high-speed internet provides new opportunities for expansion and remote work. For families, it ensures better access to telehealth services and online learning. And for OSUIT students, it means stronger job prospects in a growing industry.

“We’re proud to support the growth of Okmulgee and work alongside local leaders to bring lasting benefits to the community,” said Lana Frank, Chief Commercial Officer of Bluepeak. “Beyond faster speeds, fiber internet unlocks new opportunities, and we’re honored to be part of this city’s journey toward a more connected future.”
