Larry D. Neal

Larry D. Neal passed away after a lengthy illness at home with his wife Teresa at his side on February 16, 2025, at the age of 78. Larry was born on February 5, 1947, in Okmulgee to Lowell and Doris Neal.

He graduated from Pasadena, Texas High School in 1966. He attended San Jacinto, Texas Junior College and Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee. He worked at the family owned business, Neal’s Mission Lane Thrift T Wise Grocery in Okmulgee. Then, he went to work at Walmart Supercenter in Okmulgee as a Department Manager for 28 years, until his retirement. He also was a realtor. For a short time, he worked at Neal’s Home Store in Okmulgee. From 1970-1976, he was in the National Guard. He enjoyed being with his family and loved to visit with people he came in contact with. He was a dedicated OU fan and a member of Okmulgee First Baptist Church.

February 5, 1947 – February 16, 2025

He married the love of his life, Teresa L. Pelt, on January 15, 1972. They were married 53 years and had two sons; Jason D. Neal and Brandon J. Neal.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Doris Neal; his son Brandon J. Neal; his grandparents; uncle LaMoine Neal, and inlaws Marvin and Dorothy Pelt.

He is survived by his wife Teresa of the home; a son Jason D. Neal of Tulsa; sister-inlaw Marvena Stepler, and husband Sam of Osprey, Fla.; sister Sharon Willingham of Houston, sister Jennifer Bartlow of Oklahoma City, sister Saundra Ellis and husband Jerry of Midlothian, Texas, sister Gwen Baldwin and husband Greg of Sherman, Texas; brother Kary Neal and wife Jennifer of Okmulgee; aunt Mary Neal of Oklahoma City; and aunt Wanda Freihofer of Norman. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In honoring Larry’s wishes, no services will be held.

Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memorials and condolences may be shared with the family on Larry’s Tribute page at www. mcclendon- winters.com.
