Connie Ruth (Roberts) Toothaker, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, left this earthly life on the morning of Sunday, February 2, 2025, after a long illness. Her last days of care provided at Baptist Village in Broken Arrow by many kind, loving persons.
Connie was the third of four children born to Harold Eugene and Almeida (Bowman) Roberts, in Van Buren, Ark.
Her parents, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Connie was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 68 years, Raymond David “Bo” Toothaker, 2018.
Connie and Raymond started school together in the first grade at Van Buren, “fell in love” at age 14, & married in that city, July 1, 1950.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra K. (Toothaker) Attebery, her husband Bruce, of Broken Arrow, and Sandra’s son, Matthew Smith, of Edmond; a son, Randall W. Toothaker, his wife Wendy, of Marion, Iowa, and their children, Christopher, Everett, Nathan and Isabella; three great-grandsons, children of Christopher and Kara Toothaker, Denver, include Caius, Ezra and Jonah.
Connie is also survived by her beloved June 19, 1931 – February 2, 2025
‘baby’ sister, Darlene Moore, of Garland, Texas and many loving nieces and nephews.
Connie worked for the U.S. government for many years, retiring as a Service Representative from the Okmulgee Social Security Administration in January 1987.
Connie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Okmulgee, active for many years as the lead Sunday School teacher for the primary school children of ages 8-10. She also served many years as a volunteer at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital and was a former Board Member of the Okmulgee Salvation Army, Okmulgee Baptist Village and a number of other volunteer activities, including visits to a number of persons in the local nursing homes.
Connie loved Jesus Christ and lived to introduce Him to as many people as possible in her life.
Visitation will be held at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Thursday, February 6, 2025. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at Okmulgee Cemetery on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will be after these services.
