Robert Dean ‘Bob’ Casey

May 31, 1931 – December 26, 2024

Robert Dean “Bob” Casey passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, after a brief illness.

Bob and his twin sister Betty were born in Hoffman on Sunday, May 31, 1931. They were the second and third of eight children of William A. Casey and Minnie Mae (London) Casey. Bob grew up and spent nearly his entire life in Morris. Bob graduated with the class of 1952 and on July 3 of that year, he and Carolyn Sue Lowrance were married.

Very soon after they were married, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he spent the next two years in radar operations. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. During his service time, they had a son, David. After his discharge from the Army, another son, Russell, was born.

Bob spent the rest of his life developing the craft of carpentry. He became a journeyman carpenter and was always in high demand from small jobs to complete building of houses. He specialized in building cabinets. His work was always high quality.

Bob and Sue spent their entire life on the family homestead, raising the boys and enjoying life. Bob enjoyed anything to do with horses or cattle. He also enjoyed country music and western tv and movies. In his fifties, he started playing golf and he would golf with the Morris gang two or three times a week for several years. He also really enjoyed his grandchildren hanging around with him at home.

His wife Sue passed away in 2011 and he later remarried Virginia Keys. They had been married a few years and she also passed away in 2016. Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Velma and Mary Ann, and brother, Bill; and his special cow dog, Dolly.

He is survived by both of his sons, David and Russell; his sisters, Betty, Shirley, and Linda; brother John; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Bob was a lifetime member of the local Carpenters Union, the Okmulgee County Cattlemen’s Association and a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Morris.

Bob spent his final years at Baptist Village and Highland Park in Okmulgee. The family would like to thank these special people for their care in his final days.

Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church in Morris, with Pastor Kendell Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Morris Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Spike Casey, Robert Casey, Jackson Casey, Gregg Carter, Mitch Embry, Chris Tracy and Landon Carter.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Gary Kelley’s Add’Vantage Funeral and Cremation Service.
