Sparkle Spree winners announced
By JOSHUA JACKSON REPORTER

Okmulgee Main Street’s annual Sparkle Spree wrapped up in spectacular fashion Monday evening at the Creek Council House. The event celebrated local businesses and brought the community to- gether, culminating in $1,200 in Main Street Bucks and $500 in cash prizes being awarded to lucky attendees.

More than 20 local businesses participated in this year’s Sparkle Spree, making it a resounding success. Attendees purchased raffle tickets from participating stores for a chance to win big while supporting their favorite Main Street shops.

Among the winners, Stephanie Holland took home $50 in Main Street Bucks after purchasing her ticket from East Central Electric Cooperative, followed by another win of $200. Zac Ingram won $50 twice, securing both prizes from Mithril Adventures. Tony Housdan claimed $50 early in the evening and later won $300, both from Mithril Adventures. Rafey secured $100 from Mithril Adventures as well. Steve Slape celebrated multiple wins, taking home $100 from Western Sun Federal Credit Union, $100 from Laci’s Nutrition Shoppe, and another $200 from the same shop. Finally, Peregrine Higgins walked away with the grand prize of $500 in cash from Mithril Adventures.

Main Street Bucks, redeemable at 22 participating locations, offered winners a chance to support local businesses such as First Family Federal Credit Union, Roses and Lace in Okmulgee and Neal’s Homestore, among others.

Okmulgee Main Street expressed gratitude to the businesses that participated in this year’s event, including Bin Addicts, Sweet Magnolia on Mort, Laci’s Nutrition Shoppe and Mithril Adventures, among many others.

As Sparkle Spree 2024 came to a close, it was clear the event had achieved its goal of spreading holiday cheer, fostering community spirit, and supporting Okmulgee’s vibrant local economy. Christmas came early for some lucky winners, and the community is already looking forward to next year’s Sparkle Spree.
