Beggs Jingle Bells Day, parade planned Saturday

For those wanting a little bit of holiday magic in the daytime, Beggs will hold their annual parade Saturday at 11 a.m. Those wishing to enter should email atchamber23@gmail.com to sign up and for information.

The Beggs Christmas Bazaar also returns this Saturday, and will be held both inside and outside of First Baptist Church in downtown Beggs. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and space can be reserved for $25. Pay in person at Club House Leathers and Accessories, 104 E. Main Street in downtown Beggs.

As the Beggs Area Chamber of Commerce urges residents to shop local and shop small, patrons are encouraged to get Jingle Bells Day Tickets from participating Beggs merchants.

Be sure to keep those tickets for a chance to win $1,000, $500 or $250. The drawing will be held Saturday after the parade. You must be present to win.

One of the highlights during the season is the Beggs United Methodist Church Chicken Noodle Dinner. Held in conjunction with Beggs Jingle Bells Day, it will also take place Saturday, Dec. 14. Serving time is 11 a.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 10 and under, and the meal will include veggies, a roll, a drink and dessert. A gift bazaar will also feature lots of great gifts, crafts and edible treats.

Beggs is also holding a Christmas Lighting Contest. A winner from each ward in the city will be named. Judging will take place next week, and you can sign up at Clubhouse Leathers for information and details.

Follow the Beggs Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for more information or their website at beggs-area-chamber-of-commerce.square. site.
