Johnnie Mae Keifer, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, at her home in Okmulgee at the age of 79. Born on January 20, 1945, to C.S. and Annie (Freeman) Williams, she spent her entire life in the community she loved.
Johnnie attended school in Earm until eighth grade, then spent a year at Morris before graduating from Okmulgee High School in 1963. She furthered her education at Bacone College, where she earned an associate degree in Social Arts.
Johnnie chose a career in cosmetology, working as a hairdresser until her retirement in 1994. Known for her warm heart and generous spirit, she loved gardening, reading and attending church. Her caring nature led her to foster numerous children over the year, providing them with a loving home. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness will live on in the lives she touched.
Johnnie is preceded in death by her parents C.S. and Annie, sister Kay Fleming, brothers Billy Fixico, Easter Sunday Fixico and Leonard Williams, and brotherin- January 20, 1945 – October 30, 2024

She is survived by son Benny Keifer and wife JoAnn, brother Harry Williams and wife Jackie, sister Patsy Pearson, grandchildren Corey Keifer, Megan Ross, Dalton Keifer, Katie Keifer, Alli Keifer, great grandchildren, niece Robin Parker, nephew Ricky Pearson and niece Gwen Harnard and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024, at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Okmulgee Cemetery.
