David Floyd Hopper

David Floyd Hopper, of Okmulgee, died Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Tulsa at 68 years of age. He was born Thursday, November 13, 1955, in Okmulgee to the late David Lester and Peggy Jean (Webb) Hopper. David graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1974.

David’s career was spent in the oil and gas industry. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He loved being part of his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives and attended many ballgames through the years.

David’s greatest love was for his family.

David married Rhonda Kay Hanson on July 13, 1981. She preceded him in passing on December 10, 2014. David was also preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Makenna.

Survivors include David’s sons, David Lee Hopper and wife Sherry of Morris, Steven Dean Hopper of Okmulgee, and Kenny Floyd Hopper and wife Emily of Jenks; siblings, Linda Graham of Okmulgee, Gay Lynn Blackley of Glenpool and Mike Hopper of Oklahoma City; November 13, 1955 – October 24, 2024

grandchildren, Keaton Zachary and wife Alice, Miranda Wadsworth and husband Kevin, Anndrea Zachary, Silas Dean Hopper, and Violet Kay Hopper; great grandchildren, Kyler, Kaybri, Kayden, Oliver, Westin, Brailee, Eastin, Southerlin and Haven. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life for David will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Okmulgee, with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
