Jackie Kay Vaughn, longtime Morris resident, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at her home.
Jackie was born December 7, 1949, in Antlers to the late Archie and Sammy (Shipley) Bailey. She grew up in Patagonia Ariz. Her family moved to Morris, where she attended high school her freshman through junior years. She then graduated from Haileyville High School.
Jackie married Donnie Vaughn on May 25, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Morris. Jackie owned a daycare in Morris, where she impacted many young lives throughout her 25 years of childcare. In 2001, Jackie began her new career as a Library Clerk at Okmulgee Public Library. She retired in 2011.
Jackie enjoyed hiking, dancing, reading and sewing, and loved photography. She created December 7, 1949 – October 5, 2024
volumes of family photos over the decades.
Jackie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbra Bell and daughter Carrie Vaughn.
Survivors include her husband Donnie Vaughn, son Justin Vaughn, daughter Kaylee Vaughn, grandchildren Byiou Vaughn, Jackson Vaugh, Gracelyn Vaughn and Ryleigh Davis, sister Kathy Davis, brother Andy Bailey and wife Annie, niece Dana Hugle and nephews Ross Davis, Troy Vaughn, Wes Bailey and Steven Rackley.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at First United Methodist Church of Morris.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jackie’s memory to First United Methodist Church of Morris or Friends of the Okmulgee Public Library.
