FFA to hold Rock-a-Thon Saturday

FFA to hold Rock-a-Thon Saturday

Group plans trip to National Convention for 3-Star Chapter honors

Come rock with Okmulgee FFA during their inaugural FFA Rock-a-Thon this Saturday in downtown Okmulgee.

According to FFA Advisor Tim Taylor, the members are collecting pledges from friends, family, community business and organization to help Okmulgee FFA travel to the National FFA Convention to be recognized on-stage as a National 3-Star Chapter.

The FFA is trying to raise at least $10,000 to go to Indianapolis later this month. It’s going to be held in conjunction with the Okmulgee Main Street’s Harvest Spoon Chili Festival 2024.

Here’s how it works:

Pledges

You can grab a chair and some pledges from community members or businesses to rock with us on Oct. 12. Or, you can sponsor an Okmulgee FFA member to rock for you starting at $10 per hour. Either way – it’s going to rock.

— Sponsorships

If your organization or business would like to be a general title sponsor for the Rock-a-Thon (and get a variety of promotional and signage perks), there are sponsorship levels available from $250 to $1,000 plus.

— Neal’s Homestore Rocking Chair Raffle

Here’s your chance to bring the joy of supporting the Okmulgee FFA Rock-a-Thon. For just $5, you could win your chance to take home either a recliner, a porch rocking chair, or a foldable sports rocking chair. The more tickets you buy, the better your chances.

Tickets are available right now rom Neal’s Homestore at their Okmulgee location, through Okmulgee FFA Chapter Officers or by contacting the AgEd Officer (Mr. Taylor) at ttaylor@okmulgeeps.com or 918-758-2075 extension 3127.

Tickets will also be available for purchase during the Okmulgee FFA Rock-a-Thon this Saturday, from 9 to 5 p.m. Cash or check will only be accepted during the event.

A huge thank you to John and the team at Neal’s Homestore for sponsoring the Okmulgee FFA Rock-a-Thon 2024 Rocking Chair Raffle.

— Details

You do not to be present to win, but winners must answer the call from Okmulgee FFA and make their choice of one of the three chairs by 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12. A total of three tickets will be selected as prize winners. Delivery or storage of chairs is not provided. Only official raffle ticket stubs and entries authorized by Okmulgee FFA are accepted. Cash or check only accepted at the Rock-a-Thon event. If you have any questions, contact the AgEd office at the information provided.

Email Mr. Taylor (ttaylor@okmulgeeps.com) or Ms. Stewart (bstewart@okmulgeeps.com) if you would like to sponsor or turn in a pledge.

Thanks to all the supporters, including early-bird sponsors Neal’s Homestore, Harlan Ford, Schaudt’s Funeral Service & Cremation Care and Okmulgee Main Street.
