Beverly J. Wright

Beverley J. Wright, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, leaving behind her husband, John L. Wright of Okmulgee; two sons, Robert Reedy and wife Robin, and James Reedy; two step-children, Randy Wright and wife Tona, and Leasa Grimes and husband Mike; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Reedy and Linda Cardenas; many nieces, nephews, and other family members and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, as well as her first husband.

Beverley was born in Okmulgee to the late Hubert and Ruby “Ruth” (Lewis) Bryant, on September 2, 1942. She married and had children in Colorado before moving back to Oklahoma in 1965. Beverley attended Second Baptist Church in Okmulgee where she taught Sunday School from 1970 to 2017. Though she was retired from teaching Sunday School, Bev attended church up until she went to meet Our Lord and Savior. When her first husband passed, she went to OSU Okmulgee September 2, 1942 – October 5, 2024

to be able to help out more with her family. In 1980, Bev went to work for Viersen and Cochran Oil and Gas as a legal secretary before retiring in December of 2007. After her retirement, Beverley had been a wonderful and devoted grandmother.

A celebration of life will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at Second Baptist Church of Okmulgee, with Pastor Adam Hiett officiating.

Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Beverley’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon-winters. com.
