As we gather to celebrate its 121st anniversary, we honor not only a house of worship but also witness the enduring faith, strength, and resilience of Okmulgee’s African American community. From its humble beginnings in 1903, under a brush arbor with a small group of dedicated members, Eastside Baptist Church has grown into one of the region’s most influential historical churches, serving the community for over a century.
