The Okmulgee Bulldogs Junior High Cross Country boys team placed second last week at the 2024 Oilton Meet. Lone Star – ORES placed first with an average time of 00:07:03.03, followed by the Bulldogs (00:07:19.03), Anderson and Jennings.
Boys placing were: Sylis Vaughn, 7th; Raymond Kelly, 13th; Braxton Thomas, 14th, Xavier Hilton, 21st; Cameron Smith, 26th; Charles Proctor, 30th; Troy Nunn, 34th; Michael Herron, 44th; Shevy Fulton, 46th. Other runners were Kase Perez, Ayden Campbell Bell, Braydon Carter, Tyson Marshall, Oden King, Bear Sitton, Silver Aguilar Orozco and Sylas Whitworth.
The Okmulgee Junior High Girls placed fourth behind Mannford, Lone Star and Jennings.
L. Mayer for Okmulgee came in 4th; J. Estrada, 14th; K. Shannon, 35th; J. Dugan, 37th; A. Todd, 38th; and Laila Harjo, 42nd. Others competing were B. Jones, H. Hill, N. Estrada and K. Ruggle.
In high school action, Preston boys came in third with a time of 00:19:33.32, behind Prue and Kiefer. Okmulgee had one finisher Keaton Fremen (00:21:26.71) and Wilson had three finishers with an average time of 00:21:30.82.
Preston runners were Carson Clay, 12th; Samuel Criner, 15th; Rylan Hicks, 20th; Jaryn Culley, 22nd; Johnny Finkbiner, 39th; Braylan Omara, 46th, Jonathan Hutchinson, 53rd; Evan Rider and Maddox Flud, 56th and 57th; and Aiden Kemp, 62nd.
For Wilson, placing were Ethan Carney, Zechariah Tecumseh and Alec Ganote.
In girls XC action, placing were Isabella Turner – Preston, 17th; Reese Herring – Wilson, 17th; Brihanna Kelley – Preston, 22nd; Allie Thompson – Wilson, 29th; Riley McCall – Wilson, 34th.
