The Preston Varsity Pirates secured a commanding 10-2 victory over the Latta Varsity Panthers on Friday, fueled by a six-run explosion in the third inning. The Pirates, led by head coach Ryan Hudson, continued their strong season as they prepare for regional tournament action. Preston took control early, getting on the board in the first inning. After Weston Cope’s two-run double and an error that brought in another run, the Pirates never looked back. The pivotal third inning saw Noah Wilson’s two-run triple, along with RBI singles from Kaden Dean and Hunter McElhannon, as the Pirates capitalized on timely hitting and defensive mistakes from Latta.
