Bonnie Jean Shotwell

Bonnie Jean Shotwell, 89, of Eufaula, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in Muskogee. Bonnie was born on July 2, 1935, in Okmulgee, the daughter of Julius Keifer and Beatrice (Arnold) Wells Cook. She graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1953. Bonnie married Donald Eugene Shotwell in Okmulgee, on August 8, 1953, and together they shared 70 years. Bonnie attended North Fork Baptist Church where she participated in the senior groups and the disaster relief help. She had the Misty-Valley Nursery on Texanna Road for 15 years. She owned and operated Shotwell Wrecker Service. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, dancing, painting, cooking and playing cards. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She also loved to fish and attend karaoke with friends and dance the night away.

Survivors include; one daughter Donna Shotwell of Eufaula; two sons, James Thomas Shotwell of Eufaula and Johnny Eugene Shotwell and wife Sherry of Eufaula; one brother, Don Wells and wife Carol of Owasso; sister Sharon Clarkson and husband Billy of Okmulgee; four grandchildren July 2, 1935 – September 24, 2024

Shannie Ogle of Eufaula, Eric Cowen and wife Robin of Perkins, Nicole Shotwell of Oklahoma City and Kase Shotwell and companion Carmen Nabors of Moore; great grandchildren, Deja Ogle and husband Hunter Shaver, Tanner Cowen, Alyssa Cowen, Lily Cowen and Brooke Cowen; great great grandchildren Scottleigh and Fletcher Shaver. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Beatrice Wells; husband Donald; three sisters Ella Mae York, Peggy Fleming, Carolyn Holder; three brothers Jackie Wells, Raymond (PeeWee) Cook, Paul David Cook; three grandchildren Anthony Bryan Baker, Bruce Ryan Baker and Jennifer Candace Baker.

Cremation arrangements were made with Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences may be made to the family at www. hbmfuneralhome.com.
