Morris High celebrates Homecoming Week

Morris High School is in the middle of its Homecoming Week festivities, as they prepare to name new royalty this Friday.

There are 11 seniors representing the various activities. The winner will be announced before the start of the MHS football game against the Haskell Haymakers, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Listed below are the Homecoming Queen candidates and their information:

Rylee Whitaker – Wrestling

Rylee is the daughter of Clark and Joy Whitaker, Granddaughter of Cassie and Rass Sadler and sister of James, Trent and Sara Whitaker. She is an honor roll student and has made state in cheer multiple times. Her future plans are to go to the University of Oklahoma and attending their nursing program.

Lilli Giddens – Track

Lilli is the daughter of Michelle Giddens and Brent Giddens. She is the sister of Jaxen Cole, Sutton, Brecken and Daisey Giddens. She is the granddaughter of Sandy Giddens and the late John Giddens, Susan Bratt, Dee Friend and Linda Friend. She is a twotime 400m state finalist and holds the 400m dash school record. Her future plans are to run college track and to become a physical therapist. She hopes to open her own clinic someday.

Kaitlyn Woods – Football

Kaitlyn is the daughter of Lacy Woods and Robert Woods and the granddaughter of Kathy and Jim Patchen. She’s a Cheer state qualifier and a member of NHS. She plans on going to nursing school to become a gynecologist.

Brook Hogan – Cheer

Brook is the daughter of Mindy Gilroy and Pete Hogan and the granddaughter of Kathy and Jim Patchen and Connie and Reese Hogan. She plans to go to state with cheer, passing Mrs. G. and Mr. Avery’s classes. Her future plans are to go to college, get into nursing school and become a RN.

Katey Mims – Band

Katey is the daughter of Dana and Max Mims. The granddaughter of Allan and Mary Schultz. She is a threeyear outstanding percussion award winner and 2023 OSSAA 2A Marching Band State Runner Up. Her goals are to go to college for culinary, pass all her classes and have lots of fun.

Aaricha Guynes – Golf

Aaricha is the daughter of Billy and Maggie Guynes, granddaughter of Thomas Snell and the late Percilla Snell, Mike Guynes and the late Kay Guynes, Kirk Oliver and the late Terry Garcia. Her siblings include Justin and Kristina Frazier, Ty and Brittany Allen, Will and Niki Guynes, Jason and Chelsy Guynes, Maelea and Emily Guynes, Tea’, Jaylen and Talee Zackery. She has been a regional champion in both softball and cheerleading. She was also one of the 16 girls chosen from across the nation to play for the USA Beyond Sports Softball team in Spain this summer. She plans to play softball at the collegiate level, become a veterinarian, and to become the wealthiest person in her family.

Maddisyn Payne – Archery

Maddisyn is the daughter of Lyle Payne and Teresa Woods-Payne. Her Grandparents are Charles Deerinwater and Sharon Deerinwater and Lyle Payne and Alta Payne. She is a part of the student council and has won numerous art awards. Her future plans are to become a cosmetologist and photographer.

Abby Long – Baseball

Abby is the daughter of Natalie and Chris Long and the granddaughter of Nancy Greene and the late Richard Greene. She is the sister to Tyler, Presley and Matthew Long. She is in NHS and her future plans are to attend ORU to become a dentist.

Alexis Schell – Basketball

Alexis is the daughter of Ashley and John Day. The granddaughter of Jana Schell and the sister of Drake and Bentley Day. She is a two-time track state qualifier for 4×200 relay and a part of the national honor society. She plans to continue education at NSU to get a bachelor’s degree in finance.

Amadahy Tulsa – Cross Country Amadahy is the daughter of Jamie Tulsa and sister of Andrea and Tyler Brown and Yancey Foster. She is the granddaughter of Deborah Burgess and Roger Burgess. She has completed 3/4 of the 800 meter dash in track. Her future plans are to go to school to be a radiologist, she hopes to attend school at Texas A&M.

Fire Clark

Fire is the daughter of Laci and Ben Bearce, Jennifer Fanelli and Greg Clark. She is the granddaughter of Sheryl and Dusty Shipley, Joyce Fanelli and Donna and Linnie Bearce. She is the sister of Samuel Shipley, Colton and Lane Bearce, Chelsey and Dalton Brewer, Larry and Becca Crooks, Trenton and JJ Fanelli. Aunt to Evelyn Crooks. She has made All-District softball for two years and All Conference in basketball. She plans to go to college to play basketball or softball and major in physical therapy.
