Behind a stellar pitching performance from Addison Dossett, the Beggs Lady Demons cruised to an 8-0 victory over Kellyville on Tuesday. Dossett was lights out in the circle, striking out 11 batters and allowing just one hit over five innings. She walked two but kept Kellyville off the scoreboard, leading the Lady Demons to a commanding win.
The Beggs offense was fueled by the hot bat of Emma Trimble, who went 3-for-3 with two triples and a double. Trimble’s impressive performance started in the first inning when she doubled, driving in a run to give Beggs an early lead. Dossett then helped her own cause, following with an RBI single to put the Lady Demons up 2-0.
Trimble continued her tear in the second inning, tripling and scoring another run. Dossett delivered again with a single to extend the lead to 4-0. The Lady Demons added another run in the third inning, capitalizing on their momentum to pull away from Kellyville.
In the fourth inning, Trimble tripled once again, driving the offense as the Lady Demons added four more runs to secure the win.
Dossett also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs. The Lady Demons were aggressive on the base paths, stealing four bases, with Alexis Tecumseh swiping two. Ruby Tenison anchored the defense with 11 plays, as Beggs committed no errors during the game.
Kellyville’s Tatum Neal took the loss, pitching four innings and giving up eight runs (five earned) on nine hits, while striking out two and walking four. M. Horacek led Kellyville at the plate, going 1-for-2, but the team couldn’t generate any offense against Dossett’s dominant pitching.
Beggs is currently playing in the Mounds Tournament which began Thursday, and will conclude on Saturday.
