Cordia F. Belisle
Obituaries
September 11, 2024
Cordia F. Belisle

Cordia F. Belisle of Tulsa passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the remarkable age of 97. Born in Featherston on February 15, 1927, to Paul and Maude (Newton) Hudson, Cordia lived a life filled with love, music and creativity.

A proud graduate of Stigler High School, Cordia married her late husband, Robert “Bob” Sharp, with whom she shared a beautiful 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. Together, they raised two sons, Steve and William “Bill” Sharp. After Bob’s passing, Cordia found love again later in life with Pete Belisle. Though their time together was shorter, their marriage was filled with happiness and companionship. Moving to Tulsa with Pete, Cordia gained many new friends, especially through their involvement at South Tulsa Baptist Church.

Music was Cordia’s true passion. For nearly 50 years, she played the piano and organ at First Baptist Church of Okmulgee, bringing joy to countless worshippers. She also shared her musical talents at Second Baptist Church and the Lutheran Church in Okmulgee. A devoted piano teacher, Cordia February 15, 1927 – September 5, 2024

taught many students over the years from her home, passing on her love of music to the next generation.

Outside of music, Cordia was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, knitting blankets and clothes, and was known for her impeccable sense of style. A gifted artist, she painted beautiful portraits of her children, flowers and buildings – her love for art evident in every brushstroke.

Cordia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Maude Hudson, her husbands, Bob Sharp and Pete Belisle. She leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with her sons, Steve Sharp and his wife, Julie, and Bill Sharp and his wife Becky, along with many other loving relatives and dear friends.

A public visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Cordia’s life was held at 1 p.m. on September 10, 2024, at South Tulsa Baptist Church, 10310 S. Sheridan Road in Tulsa, officiated by Tuffy Goforth.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service & Cremation Care, 220 S. Alabama Ave. in Okmulgee. Family and friends may leave kind words of comfort, share special memories and offer condolences online at www.schaudtfuneralservice. com.
