Anita Ann Craig

Anita Ann Craig was born in Checotah to Clyde McMurray and Ann Bailey-McMurray on April 13, 1941. She was raised by her grandparents, Riley and Bessie Bailey, who preceded her in death.

Anita graduated from Eufaula High School in 1959. She was a member of Henryetta First Church of the Nazarene. Anita was also the 2001 Henryettan of the Year. She married Dean Craig on February 14, 2004, in Eureka Springs, Ark. She began working for the city of Henryetta in 1979 where she held several positions. In 1992, she was appointed City Clerk/Treasurer and served in that position until 2001, when she was then hired as City Manager. She retired in 2003 and moved to Okmulgee in 2004 to make her home with her husband, Dean Craig.

Additionally to her grandparents, Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Craig, her sister Jeanetta Jones and husband Bill and one niece Michelle Andreatta.

Her survivors are her children, Kelly Ogg of Owasso, Kim Hedrick and husband Brent of Ponce De Leon, Fla., Jeff Craig and wife Nicole of Blanchard and Jon Craig and fiancé Jem of Denton, Texas. Grandchildren, Dustin April 13, 1941 – August 23, 2024

Ogg and wife Amanda of Owasso, Derek Ogg and wife Tiffany of Oklahoma City, Danielle Caudle and husband Josh of Okmulgee, Carson and Riley Craig of Blanchard and Taylor, Andrew, Riley and Dawson Craig of Denton, Texas. Great grandchildren, Chandler Ogg, Kelbi Ogg, Ryker Ogg, Major Ogg, R.W. Quesenbury, Lilly Caudle, Jackson Craig, Paisley Craig, Landon Craig, Hudson Dominy, Beckett Dominy and Navy Cox.

Anita also leaves behind many family and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. September 5, 2024, at Morris Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service & Cremation Care, 220 S. Alabama Ave. in Okmulgee. Family and friends may leave kind words of comfort, special memories and condolences to the family online at www.schaudtfuneralservice. com.
