The Okmulgee County Democratic Party is preparing for the weekend’s activities in Henryetta in celebration of Labor Day Parade. Also on the schedule is the annual BBQ Lunch Party, which is open to anyone.
According to Okmulgee County Democratic Party Chair Rosie Lynch, the annual AFL-CIO and Okmulgee County Democratic Party BBQ will be held right after the conclusion of the parade, which will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2.
“We are hosting with the AFL-CIO a $5 BBQ Lunch, consisting of a huge BBQ sandwich, baked beans, potato salad, dessert and a drink. The BBQ Party begins around 11-ish after the parade and until food runs out,” Lynch said.
It is always a good time as attendees celebrate the union men and women who made this holiday possible.
The BBQ is open to anyone who wants a huge, delicious meal and a chance to meet local unions and area candidates for office.
“There will be door prizes, a raffle and much more will be happening,” Lynch exclaimed. “Come join the party!”
