Travis Wayne Condren, a longtime Schulter/ Okmulgee area resident, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 16, 2024, in Okmulgee at the age of 66.
Travis was born in Henryetta on January 1, 1958, to Charley and Betty Condren. He attended Schulter Public Schools graduating at the top of his class in 1976. He played basketball and was a trick and roman rider performing at rodeos all over the state. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University on a full rodeo scholarship.
Travis lived in the Fort Worth, Texas area for several years. Upon returning to Schulter, he started team roping with his father. This was a perfect event for Travis and he had many partners over the next 10 years. He won many saddles, buckles, horse trailers and a car.
He met and married Tanya Daniel in November of 1984. They had two children, Cole Wayne and Katy Lynn during their 17 year January 1, 1958 – August 16, 2024
marriage.
Travis worked on the pipeline for many years.
Travis was preceded in death by his father, Charley.
He is survived by his mother, Betty; two brothers Curt and wife Sheryl of Schulter and Clint and wife Denise of Tulsa; two children Cole and Katy Condren of Okmulgee; dedicated service dog, Ladybird, numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with an announcement in the paper and on Facebook.
