Lady Demons dominate Morris in county battle
By PATRICK FORD NEWS EDITOR

The Beggs Lady Demons delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday, overpowering the Morris Lady Eagles 15-3. From the outset, the Lady Demons took control, scoring early and often to secure a decisive win on the road.

The Beggs offense came alive in the top of the first inning, quickly putting four runs on the board. Ruby Tenison ignited the scoring with a clutch single that drove in two runs. The Lady Demons capitalized on defensive errors by Morris, adding two more runs to establish an early 4-0 lead.

In the second inning, Beggs extended their advantage to 5-0 when Addison Dossett grounded out, allowing another run to cross the plate. The Lady Demons’ aggressive approach at the plate and ability to take advantage of Morris’ miscues set the tone for the rest of the game.

The highlight of the game came in the top of the seventh inning when Beggs exploded for six more runs on just three hits. The inning was marked by a series of errors from the Lady Eagles, which Beggs capitalized on with disciplined hitting. Abigail Harmon grounded out to bring in a run, Emma Trimble doubled to score another, and Ruby Tenison continued her stellar day with a double that brought in one more run. Alexis Tecumseh capped off the inning with an RBI single, putting the game out of reach.

On the mound, Addison Dossett was dominant for the Lady Demons. She pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings. Dossett struck out seven batters and walked four, effectively shutting down the Morris offense. Her strong performance was supported by the Lady Demons’ defense, which played error-free ball to back up their pitcher.

Offensively, Ruby Tenison and Alexis Tecumseh led the charge for Beggs, each collecting two hits while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Tenison and Destiny Chisum were particularly effective, driving in three runs apiece. The Lady Demons also displayed patience at the plate, drawing nine walks, with Abby Yandell leading the team with three free passes.

Morris’s Fire Clark took the loss, struggling against the relentless Beggs offense. Clark pitched seven innings, giving up 15 runs, though only four were earned, on eight hits. She struck out two batters but issued nine walks, which proved costly for the Lady Eagles.

Despite the loss, Fire Clark was a bright spot for Morris, going 2-for-3 at the plate and driving in one run. However, the Lady Eagles were unable to mount a significant comeback against the formidable Lady Demons.

With this victory, the Beggs Lady Demons continue to build momentum, improving their record to 6-4. As they look ahead to their next challenge, the Lady Demons will aim to maintain their winning ways and capitalize on the strengths displayed so far this season.

The Lady Eagles are on the road this weekend as they are playing the in Bristow Tournament, where they are set to face Luther, Calvin, Davenport and Bristow.
