Kelly Denise Johnson

Kelly Denise Johnson passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, in Okmulgee at the age of 61. She was born to James Lee Whitaker and Mary Helen (Clark, Whitaker) Heck on February 19, 1963, in Borger, Texas.

In her younger years, Kelly and her family lived in many places before settling down in Morris. She is a graduate of Morris High School and a graduate of OSUIT, where she received her Associates in Accounting. Kelly worked for many years as a title clerk for multiple car dealerships. Kelly loved to attend car shows with her husband Dave. One of her favorite places to visit was Mena, Ark. Kelly loved to read, she was a movie connoisseur and loved talking about the tv shows she was watching at the time.

Kelly is preceded in death by her father James Lee Whitaker, her mother Mary Helen (Clark, February 19, 1963 – August 15, 2024

Whitaker) Heck and her sister Robin Whitaker. She is survived by her husband Dave Johnson of the home; two sons, Cole Whitaker and wife Kathy of Durango, Colo., Curtis Taylor and wife Sarah of Schulter. Four step-children Chris Speers and partner, Candy Britt, David Johnson Jr. and Dana Johnson, all of Okmulgee. Three brothers, James Clark Whitaker and wife Joy of Twin Hills, Tom Heck and wife Stephanie of Kissimmee, Fla., Earl Heck and wife Erin of Okmulgee. Kelly had six nieces, two nephews, four great-nieces and two great-nephews and many grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her and will remember her.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, at 1 p.m. at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel, 303 E. 7th Street in Okmulgee.

Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Kelly’s Tribute Page at www. mcclendon-winters. com.
