To get an interesting and informative perspective on this subject, let’s go to Isaiah 55:8 where we read, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.” This truth is emphasized in Proverbs 13:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man (or person), but the end thereof are the ways of death.” This is enlarged upon in Proverbs 13:15, “The way of transgressors (sinners, breakers of God’s law) is hard,” and it plays out in real life. Recently, a grief-stricken mother called me to let me know her middle-aged son had passed away. The circumstances surrounding his passing and information from other sources made it clear that the death was not from natural causes, but from one that plagues our society today. The sad note here is that the mother told me her son had experienced a hard life, and my heart broke for her. The good news is it does not have to be that way for God has provided a remedy.
