The Beggs Lady Golden Demons showcased their prowess with a decisive 10-0 win over Kellyville on Tuesday. This was the first district win for the Lady Demons in three years, according to Coach Danny Phillips.
The Demons set the tone early, scoring in the top of the first inning with a single by Alexis Tecumseh.
By the third inning, the team had extended their lead, capitalizing on a Kellyville error and additional hits from Haylee Baughn and Abby Yandell.
Addison Dossett was exceptional on the mound for the Golden Demons, pitching five innings and allowing just two hits while striking out seven. In contrast, Kellyville’s J McGuire struggled, giving up 10 runs on 12 hits.
Offensively, the Golden Demons accumulated 12 hits, with Ruby Tenison leading with two RBIs and Addison Dossett contributing three hits. Abby Yandell and Abigail Harmon also added multiple hits. Angel Aylor impressed with two stolen bases.
Kellyville’s offense was limited to just two hits.
The Beggs Festival got underway yesterday, and continues through Saturday, with the Lady Demons facing Oklahoma Union and Checotah, and Owasso JV and Booker T. Washington in Saturday action.
Next week, the Lady Demons have a double header against Sperry and will travel to Morris on Tuesday to face the Lady Eagles.
