Beggs falls to Chandler in double-header

The Lady Demons faced a tough challenge on Monday against Chandler, falling 10-1. Chandler’s B. Correa was instrumental, delivering a key tworun single in the third inning that helped set the tone. K. Allen pitched a gem for Chandler, tossing a complete game with 13 strikeouts, allowing no hits, and giving up just one unearned run. Addison Dossett took the loss for the Lady Demons, allowing 10 runs (one earned) on 10 hits over seven innings. the Lady Demons’ lone run came from Dossett’s RBI, and they managed to turn one double play in the game.

Chandler’s offense was relentless, accumulating 10 hits, with B. Correa leading with three RBIs and R. Capps adding three hits. Allen’s immaculate inning in the sixth, striking out the side on just nine pitches, was a highlight of Chandler’s strong performance.

In the second match-up, Chandler emerged victorious over the Lady Demons despite being outhit in a 14-3 contest.

Chandler wasted no time asserting themselves, jumping to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Two walks, followed by productive sacrifice flies from two Chandler players, each contributing to an early 2-0 advantage. The second inning proved pivotal for Chandler as they capitalized on defensive lapses from the Lady Demons, scoring five runs on just one hit, leading to a 7-0 lead.

Despite facing an uphill battle, the Lady Demons showed resilience, with Angel Aylor leading the offensive charge with two hits throughout the game. Aylor’s efforts, alongside contributions from Emma Trimble and Abigail Harmon driving in runs, kept the Golden Demons within striking distance.

However, Chandler’s offensive onslaught continued in the third inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues to extend their lead. Golden Demons struggled to contain Chandler’s hitters, who combined for eight RBIs in the game.

On the mound, R. Capps secured the win for Chandler, surrendering five hits and three runs over three and one-third innings.

Chandler’s disciplined plate approach proved crucial, drawing an impressive 12 walks throughout the game.
